Pinch is a cooking app built around video recipes. It's designed for two audiences: home cooks who want to learn through high-quality video content, and culinary creators who want a platform to publish and monetize their recipes.

The Concept

Traditional recipe apps are walls of text with a photo at the top. Pinch takes a different approach — video-first content that shows every technique, every step, every detail that makes a dish work.

For creators, Pinch provides a platform to build an audience and generate revenue from their culinary expertise. Create a recipe, film it, publish it, sell it.

Key Features

  • Video-first recipes — Step-by-step visual guides for every dish
  • Creator tools — Everything needed to create, edit, and publish content
  • Monetization — Creators can sell access to premium recipes
  • Discovery — Browse and search across creators and cuisines
  • Collections — Organize saved recipes for easy access

Our Role

We built Pinch from the ground up — and then went beyond software:

  • Product strategy — Defining the platform concept and feature set
  • UI/UX design — Creating the complete visual experience
  • Mobile development — Native apps for iOS and Android
  • Backend infrastructure — Content delivery, payments, creator tools
  • Content production — Filming initial video content in cooking studios

Beyond Code

Pinch is an example of how we think about product development. A recipe app without recipes is useless — so we helped produce the initial content library, working in cooking studios to film the videos that would give the platform something to launch with.

Building a product sometimes means doing whatever it takes to make it real. In this case, that meant getting into the kitchen.
